Born in Leipzig in 1640, Susanna Eger began to earn her livelihood by becoming a cook for Leipzig’s affluent citizens. She published her recipes regarding the Saxon cuisine in a cookbook. Following in her footsteps the Susanna-Eger-School has been offering vocational training in a dual system since 1992 in the sectors of catering and hotel industry as well as bakery trade.
