The Vocational High School of Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering, Galabovo was established in 1960, in response to the need of management and executive staff for Bulgaria’s biggest energy complex – Maritsa Iztok.

Up until today, this is the only Bulgarian school which prepares secondary school graduates specialized in heating energy. Over 340 students study at VHSPEEE in the following majors: Heating Energy, Electrical Production Facilities, Machine Building.

The main priorities and needs set in VHSPEE’s development strategy are:

  • Quality of the learning process;
  • Practical applicability of the learning material;
  • Implementation of national and international projects;
  • Building students’ communication and language skills to ensure successful social integration.

The high school organizes various contests and partners with companies supporting the students’ successful development to achieve higher-quality education of future specialists in the energy sector.

VHSPEE has successfully fulfilled a number of projects, thanks to the professionalism and great motivation of the teaching staff in implementing useful and interesting initiatives with added value to learners’ personal and professional development:

  • 2018/19 – project VOLT, № 2018-1-BG01-KA102-047416, Erasmus+, KA1, under which in July 2019 20 students were sent on a study internship in Italy
  • 2017/18 – project EL-VISION, № 2017-1-BG01-KA102-035897, Е+, KA 1, in July 2018 20 students participated in a 14-day internship in Portugal.
  • 2016 – project “European experience for obtaining professional skills in power engineering and electrical engineering in a foreign-language environment”, №2016-1-BG01-KA102-023025, Е+, KA 18 students from VHSPEE were sent on a 16-day internship at Italian companies.
  • Any many other projects, such as “Your Class”, OP Regions in Growth 2014-2020, Student Practices, Success, etc.
